Event Description:

For our final event of 2012 the Sense Solar Series heads to the heart of Snowdonia as we take on our most challenging walk yet. This is not our longest walk but it has more uphills than the majority of our other Solar Series Walks combined.

Although we are not climbing Snowdon we are climbing the next two highest peaks and over the day will summit a total of six of Snowdonia's famous 3000ft peaks. Peaks summited include: Pen yr Ole Wen (978m), Carnedd Dafydd (1044m), Carnedd Llewelyn (1064m), Foel Grach (976m), Garnedd Uchaf (926m) and Foel Fras (942m).

Whether you want to enjoy a fun day out, challenge yourself, or just to do something for charity, this event could be the perfect one for you!

This area of Snowdonia is very remote and as such the whole event is fully guided. So if navigation is not your thing then you can rest assured one of our Mountain Leaders will be there to look after you every step of the way. If you are an experienced map reader you can complete this event self guided. However, it is not possible to have checkpoints supplying refreshments as we do on all other Solar Series events. This means you will need to be self sufficient whilst on the hills.

You are welcome to complete this challenge as an individual or in teams so why not try and get a group of your together from work...

Fully or Self Guided:

This event is fully guided meaning there is a LargeOutdoors leader with you throughout the day.  Every one of our leaders is experienced in leading walks across all sorts of terrain along with being first aid qualified.  As a group we will carry first aid kits, emergency shelters and any additional group safety equipment deemed necessary for this event.  However, you are also responsible for ensuring your own safety and carrying all essential and sometimes compulsory safety equipment.  Full kit lists will be sent out when you sign up.

What you get:

  • You'll join us on this stunning challenge.
  • Professional support to look after you for the duration of the walk including fully quaified Mountain Leaders.
  • A certificate of completion of the walk.
  • A chance to really challenge yourself.
  • An active, social and fun day exporing the Nene Valley.
  • A Loyalty Pass from Large Outdoors worth £35 giving you access to 100's of free walks and discounts on some great walking weekends away.
  • The feeling of accomplishment, not just from completing the physical challenge, but also from your contribution towards the work of Sense and their work with Deafblind children and adults
